Coventry Rugby Club have won their battle to go into administration.

Former Chairman Andrew Green wanted the club to go into liquidationand stop tradingf but a court battle came out in favour of those club officials trying to save the club and now the club have more time in which to find around £1m to pay off their creditors.

The battle which included Peter Rossborough, persuaded the court that Reading based Mr Green, who has a number of dissolved companies, had technically failed to properly place Coventry Rugby Club into voluntary liquidation.

John Kelly of BTG Restructuring has been appointed the club's administrator and Peter Rossborough, told the CT:  "I’m very glad we’re in administration rather than where we were, and I never thought I’d be saying it.

"It’s a start. We can now continue trading and the administrator can sort out the finances and try to find a potential buyer."

Cov's match tonight against Bedford goes ahead at the Ricoh Arena. Kick off is at 7.45pm and season tickets will be honoured. Normal match prices will be charged.
