Wasps have said that they will be paying off the £13.4m debt to Coventry City Council in the next few days.

The debt, which was the Council bailing out Arena Coventry Limited, was taken on by Wasps when they bought the Ricoh Arena and the money was raised by the sale of a bond which brought in £35m in a couple of weeks.

Nick Eastwood told the Coventry Telegraph's Simon Gilbert:“We would expect to clear that debt within the next week or so.

“Clearly there is quite a lot of technical work that has to happen, but that will happen sooner rather than later, in the next few days.”
