COVENTRY CITY U18'S 1-0 ASTON VILLA U18'S BY KEV MONKS

Coventry City U18's put in a good performance to beat Aston Villa.

Fielding their usual strong side at the Alan Higgs Centre,City set about taking the game to a Villa side who included Isaac Osbourne's brother Isiah.

Paul McCrink had the first effort racing through only to see his effort blocked by the feet of Villa keeper Robert Olejnik in the third minute.

Villa looked a good outfit and twice the pacy Shane Paul fired just wide of Belford's goal.

Azariah Ogarro is another City player to have come on in leaps and bounds this season and twice he went close with two efforts in the 23rd and 26th minute which both just missed the far post.

City with Gooding,Layfield and Ogarro working hard in midfield, took the lead in the 68th minute. Craig Kelly broke down the left and drove the ball low into the net with Stephen O'Halloran's ensuring the ball went into the net.

The league leaders were nearly two goals down in the 78th minute when Olejnik flapped a Sidhu header from a corner and substitute Sanders was forced to clear off his line.

Andy Gooding limped off ten minutes from time after failing to shake off a crunching tackle from the impressive Osbourne.

City U16's also played well beating Aston Villa 2-0.
