Coventry City U18's maintained their winning run with a well deserved 2-0 victory over Bristol City at the Alan Higgs Centre.

Brian Borrows side gave the visitors no time to settle into the game, forcing a thirty six second corner before a long ball from Ben Turner was chipped over the bar by Ange Lourougon.

A second corner came in the fifth minute with defender Rikki Bains rising to head over.
Andy Gooding was again highly industrious in midfield, combining with Lee Hildreth to fire just wide three minutes.

Now the pitches at the Alan Higgs Centre are of such a good quality that they encourage passing football and three times this was used to good effect to provide chances for Lourougon and Aza Ogarro.

It was not until the sixteenth minute that the visitors got into the Sky Blue half winning a corner and then having striker Elliott Benyon race through only for City keeper Cameron Belford to dive bravely and block.

The Sky Blues deserved to be well in front but had to wait until the 43rd minute when a Bains header was handled on the line. The ball was scrambled into the net but referee Mr Lethridge brought back play, awarding the Sky Blues a penalty and Mike Taylor who had handled the ball a ticking off and a red card.
Aaron Stringfellow stepped up and fired Coventry ahead.

The goal may have been a long time coming but nine minutes into the second half,Coventry doubled their tally when Ange Lourougon firmly headed home a Stringfellow cross from five yards.

With ten minutes to go,Belford pulled off a tremendous save when he pushed a James Wilson point blank header onto the crossbar and out for a corner.

In the 82nd minute, Belford completed a hat-trick of fine saves when he pushed away Elliott Benyon's penalty kick after the Sky Blue custodian had brought the striker down, earning himself a clean sheet and ensuring City's margin of victory.

City U16's lead Bristol City 2-0 but were pegged back for a 2-2 draw.
