Music journalist Pete Chambers has written a new book about the Beatles. Entitled The Beatles Sent To Coventry, Pete takes a look at the many connections that exist between The Fab Four and the City Of Coventry and Warwickshire.

“Coventry is pretty unique”, Says Pete, ”It's here that John and Yoko came to plant their acorns of peace in 1968. Not London, Liverpool or New York, but Coventry Cathedral”.

This book explains that event in detail, and Yoko Ono's subsequent Coventry visit in October 2005, where the author got to meet Yoko.
It details The Beatles three appearances in Coventry at the Matrix and Coventry Theatre, with rare unseen photos. It also proves for once and for all that the Beatles did indeed play at Nuneaton's Co-op Hall the day love Me Do was released!

“I hope people will find this book a refreshing change to many other Beatles publication that intent on re-writing history, or defacing the band. I'm a big Beatles fan, and it's written from that perspective. It doesn't matter if you are from Coventry, there's a lot more to this book than that. Even the biggest Beatles fans will find things in this book they didn't know, guaranteed”.

What did John put on at their matrix gig?

What exactly did Paul pick up in Coventry in 1968?

What did George purchase in Coventry in 1997?

And what pop-guru to be, joined the Beatles for a pre-concert drink at the their first Coventry appearance?
