Tax payers in Coventry are to pay £750,000 to pay for the cost of extra trains stopping at the new Ricoh Arena train station for Coventry City home matches and for concerts and other events such as World Cup Rugby matches.

The £750,000 which the CT's Les Reid is reporting is from next year's budget will be part of a £1.6m contribution and will be discussed by Coventry City Council on January 3rd.

Trains are expected to run every fifteen minutes on match days, arriving at a six coach platform at the Ricoh Arena station which is part of the first phase of the NUCKLE scheme, the funding for which was given the government go-ahead earlier this month..
