Supporter Buses Announced

Last updated : 10 June 2005 By Covsupport/SBT

Following a recent consultation exercise, Mike deCourcey Travel and The Sky Blue Trust are pleased to announce the launch of a unique new dedicated transport scheme to and from Ricoh Arena.

The initial interest forms that were displayed over the past few weeks at various Public Houses, allowed us to monitor the level of interest from each individual establishment.

A total of six new routes are currently under registration process with the Department of Transport. Membership application forms will be available at each establishment listed below from 20th June 2005. Please complete the application form and enclose a full colour passport photograph along with the £4.00 administration fee. Application forms must be submitted by 01st August 2005, this will ensure that you receive your ID Card prior to the start of the season.

A fare of £4.00 return inclusive, is payable to the driver on boarding the bus each match day. The scheme is open to members only and without an ID Card, travel will be refused.

Buses will depart first pick up points at 13.30, then onto Ricoh Arena via other pick up points along the route. On arrival at the Arena, buses will park ready to commence return journey for members to their designated establishment, after the match.

Initially there are six routes which will depart from the following public houses;

801 - White Bear;Tiger Moth to Arena
802 - Biggin Hall Hotel;Charterhouse, Gosford Park Hotel to Arena
803 - Walsgrave pub; Rose & Woodbine to Arena
804 - Burnt Post; The Festival, to Arena
805 - The Herald;Lime Tree Working Mens Club, The Rainbow,The Maudsley to Arena
806 - Tile Hill Social Club; The Hawthorn Tree to Arena.

**These routes have been constructed after consultation on a subject to capacity basis. It is anticipated that the scheme will grow throughout the season which hopefully, will enable us to add more routes if the demand is great enough. We would urge all supporters who registered their names to become members and utilise these bus routes in order for the scheme to be a success. With the bus operator having no guarantee of return revenue, it is imperative that the services be used so that we may continue to operate them on an ongoing basis.
