Smoking Banned From Arena

Arena Coventry Limited have banned smoking from the Arena. As an experiment, supporters were allowed to smoke at half-time in the bowl only for four home matches. However, this was not to the liking of those opposed to smoking and letters to the CET and emails to ACL have prompted a total ban. In order, not to lose or offend any more supporters than they have to, ACL Chief Paul Fletcher has said that there will be designated smoking areas outside of the Arena.

The former Burnley player said: "The board has thought long and hard about this issue over the last 12 months and listened to the passionate views of both sides of the argument. "We all accept we are in a grey area at present as we all await legislation which will ban smoking in all public areas."

Covsupport has asked that Arena Coventry Limited make these designated smoking areas public knowledge at the earliest opportunity,so supporters of both the Sky Blues and our opponents wishing to smoke will know where to go and non smokers will know which areas to avoid, well ahead of the next game versus Crystal Palace on October 15th.
