Sign The Arena Station Petition

Last updated : 05 November 2005 By Covsupport
Holbrook Councillors Ann Lucas and Joe Clifford have launched a petition as the next step in their campaign for a railway station at Coventry's Ricoh Arena.

The lack of a station was described by Cllr Clifford as "crazy", particularly in view of the amount of people now using the Arena, and the shopping complex next door.

Money has been set aside by the City Council to build the station, and it was a condition of the planning permission for the Arena, but the Strategic Rail Authority have refused to play ball - first deciding that the Coventry-Nuneaton line was to be closed, then re-opening it but saying there were "insufficient passengers" on the line to warrant a station.
