Press Statement

November 23rd 2007

At 4pm, Friday 23rd November 2007, Sky Blue Trust Board members Rachael Brown (Chair), Nigel Eccles (Vice-chair) and, Media Spokesman Natalie Cox arrived at the Ricoh Arena for a appointment with Coventry City Football Club major shareholder Geoffrey Robinson.

The purpose of the meeting, which had already been re-arranged on the first occasion by Mr Robinson, was for the Sky Blue Trust Board to ask a number of questions that had been formulated by Trust members, supporters and contributors to various Coventry City supporters' websites with regard to Mr. Robinson's heading of the Windsor consortium's proposed bid to gain control of Coventry City Football Club.

On arrival to the Club reception we were advised by Joe Elliott, and Ken Sharp that Mr Robinson was "in London" and enquired whether he had 'phoned to cancel, given that Mr. Elliot had the previous day given Mr. Robinson the telephone contact details for both Mr. Eccles and Ms. Cox. The answer to this question, given that we had arrived on time for the appointment having not received the courtesy of a call was obviously, no. We can only conclude that Mr. Robinson did not regard this meeting and the genuine concerns of supporters as important or worthy of his attention.

The Sky Blue Trust hopes that Mr. Ranson will show more interest in the views and concerns of both the Trust and the Sky Blue Army.

Nigel Eccles said "We feel an opportunity for the Sky Blue Trust and the Sky Blue Army to clarify Mr. Robinson's position and the intent of the Windsor Group, has been missed which makes it all more difficult to endorse their bid. We implore Mr. Robinson to contact the Trust to re-arrange this meeting as soon as possible."
