LEICESTER CITY 3-2 COVENTRY CITY BY KEV MONKS

Coventry City Reserves lost their first game in three months with a 3-2 defeat at Leicester City.

For this local derby,Alan Cork changed the side that had beaten West Ham with Clayton Ince taking over in goal from Jonny Tuffey and Luke Webb replacing Kevin Thornton who joined the City support in the stand.

In front of a good crowd of 538 at the impressive new home of Hinckley United, Alan Cork's side should have taken the lead in the fourth minute when Ryan Lynch got down the left.. Vijay Sidhu held the ball up for Lee Hildreth who hit a shot from the edge of the area which Alex Cisak did well to push over.

Two minutes later,Craig Reid should have scored when Cisak missed the bounce of the ball and with an empty goal at his mercy,City's top scorer somehow smacked the ball off a defender from four yards and onto the right hand post.

It was not Reid's night as in the 18th minute,he pulled his left hamstring and had to be replaced by Paul McCrink.

In the 21st minute,Cisak made another excellent save getting across to parry an Ogarro sixteen yard pile driver.

Leicester, who had Trevor Peake helping on the bench following the Foxes appointment of Rob Kelly as first team boss, fielded most of the U18 side that had beaten City on Saturday.

They managed two corner and a Louis Dodds shot which was so wide that Ince did not even have to move.

Three minutes into the second half,a terrible back pass from Rikki Bains left Clayton Ince in trouble. Stuart Wall blocked one shot but with Ince on the deck,Max Gradel slammed home the loose ball for the opening goal.

Ange Lourougnon was sent on for the injured Luke Webb.

The commanding Stuart Wall went wide with a header before Leicester were awarded a 61st minute penalty. Rikki Bains challenged Gradel as he went through and won the ball but Mr Haywood decided this was a penalty. There was a delay for an injury but Louis Dodds was not put off and scored past Ince who went the wrong way.

City came straight back. In the 67th minute, Vijay Sidhu scrambled the ball over the line from a Davis corner.

Ben Turner urged his side to get back in the game, taking the ball back to the centre circle. Just over a minute later,Ange Lourougnon drew the Sky Blues level with a stunning left footed effort from the edge of the area.

Lourougnon on his reserve team debut had four chances to give City the win including hitting the post two minutes from the end but deep in stoppage time,Eric Odiambo was allowed space inside the area to rifle past Ince and give Leicester the win.
