LEICESTER CITY RESERVES 3-3 COVENTRY CITY RESERVES BY KEV MONKS

Coventry City Reserves scored three excellent goals in a friendly at Leicester City this lunch-time.

Alan Cork was able to field a very experienced side for this game at Leicester's training ground.

The opening exchanges were tight with Isaac Osbourne having the only real effort with a long ranger that flew wide in the 12th minute.

City took the lead in the 21st minute. Dele Adebola raced out of defence, shrugged off a marker and unselfishly squared for Kevin Thornton to stroke into the net from ten yards.

Two minutes later, more good work from Adebola played in Thornton once more. This time, the young Irishman's shot struck the far post with the keeper well beaten.

The home side drew level in the 37th minute when Momo Sylla rose to head in a corner after some hesitancy from Gonzalez.
Two minutes later,City went straight up the other end. Ryan Lynch cut inside and thundered a twenty yarder into the top of the net at the far post.

On the stroke of half-time,a mistake in the Sky Blues defence fell for Elvis Hammond to poke the ball past the advancing Gonzalez.

Leicester had the early pressure in the opening exchanges in the second half. Dele Adebola was forced to clear off his line from a Danny Tiatto 50th minute free kick but ten minutes later, Elvis Hammond raced into the penalty area. The former Fulham youngster went down under a challenge from Ryan Lynch but got up to score from the resulting penalty.

Back came the Sky Blues and with twenty minutes left. Isaac Osbourne and Thornton worked well to lay the ball back to Don Hutchison who smashed a thirty yarder high into the net with a strike that was equally good if not better than his goal at Leeds United last season.

David McNamee looked comfortable at the back whilst the experience of Hutchison, Cameron and Adebola in midfield ensured that City left with a point and remain unbeaten in eight consecutive matches.
