A new funding bid for the Coventry north/south rail service is to be launched according to the CT, this morning.

Coventry City Council's Director Of City Development John McGuigan, has told the CT that "An "even more robust" business case was being developed to go to the Department For Transport in December."

The plans include a new bay platform at Coventry Station which would allow four trains an hour to be able to stop at the Ricoh Arena on match days.

"I want the whole city to get behind this. Let's pull together and achieve what everybody wants," said McGuigan.
