Arena Coventry bosses have been urged to let the end of season supporter matches continue in future years. This Sunday sees that the final supporters game at Highfield Road, with close to eighty end of season matches having been played there over the last two season. Supporters and numerous companies have been organising themselves into teams and paying between £100 and £145 to play on the hallowed turf and the excellent response has proved to be an good fund raiser for the club.

Brian Adair
"I'd love to play at the Arena", said Covsupport N.I.skipper Brian Adair (pictured above) who organised a team of friends from Northern Ireland in order that he could play at Highfield Road.

Adair added: “ For me having been flying over from northern ireland over the past 16 years watching my beloved Sky Blues to actually play on the hollowed turf was just an experience I will never ever forget and then to actually score – well amazing…a dream – that’s the only way I can describe it and to do it with your mates and family meant so much to me personally. "We hope we will get the opportunity to grace the Arena next year and already all the lads are up for it.

Rory McGovern, owner of CovCityFC.com (above) said after his game last Sunday: "It's a shame they are knocking this place down but if they do it at the Arena, I would do it again."

Jasmine Caruana who was possibly the last female to play at Highfield Road told Covsupport: "To finally live the dream & play football on the sacred turf that all my beloved City players have played before me, was just so mega, an experience that I will never forget. I did not score in that game but I would like an another opportunity at the Arena."
