STOCKPORT COUNTY 2-1 COVENTRY CITY LADIES BY KEV MONKS
Coventry City Ladies miserable run of away form saw a defeat at Stockport County.
On a dry afternoon at Stalybridge Celtic, an entertaining affair, saw Mark Phillips team fell behind in the 41st minute when Stockport had the ball on the left. Coventry's replay was swift with a County defender completely misjudging the flight of a through ball. It fell to Katy Box who chipped the ball high into the net from the right edge of the penalty area in the 44th minute.
In the 71st minute,Stockport took the full compliments of points when a Lena Shepherd through ball from her own half fell to Mel Garside who shrugged off her marker before scoring with a right footed shot.
On Wednesday night (7.45pm), City travel to Sutton Coldfield to play Aston Villa in a WPL Northern Division fixture and manager Mark Phillips will be hoping for a better performance against his former club.
