The Government run Department Of Transport are being blamed for the latest delay to the proposed railway station at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

According to this morning's CT, Tory Concillors in Coventry have been told that the Department Of Transport would prefer a name change for NUCKLE (Nuneaton, Coventry, Kenilworth, Leamngton rail scheme), phase one of which includes provision for a railway station close to the Sky Blues home.

Deputy Council Leader Kevin Foster told the CT: "This latest objection to this name would be comical if it was not yet another example of time wasting tactics, deliberately designed to further delay this project.

"I am not bothered about what we call it. Like most Coventrians, I just want to get it built. Yet the current Government seems more interested in finding increasingly trivial reasons to justify the objection."
