Disabled Hit By Arena Parking Increase

Disabled Coventry City supporters who are blue badge holders are finding out that they have to pay £125 to park in one of the disabled bays at the Arena Stadium.

As part of the Green Travel Plan, 66 spaces were set aside for season ticket holding Blue Badge holders. Arena Coventry Limited's Charles Rayner told a number of disabled groups at various meetings including one on August 18th 2004, prior to the stadium opening that these places would be free and true to his word, last season they were.

Disabled season ticket holders, who applied for a parking permit this season some as early as April, received no letter from Arena Coventry Limited telling them of the decision to implement any charges and it is only through them phoning Arena Coventry to enquire as to where their passes are, that the truth is being revealed.

Arena Coventry Limited do not accept credit card payments and payments are to be made by cheque only.
