Coventry Will Get Olympic Qualifying Matches

Coventry will be staging qualifying matches in the Olympic 2012 Finals tournament, it has been announced.

In a press statement, the London 2012 Olympic Organising Committee have announced the following:

The International Olympic Committee requires that all Olympic venues are free of advertising and branding at Games-time which is why the Ricoh Arena will be re-named for Games time to the City of Coventry Stadium.

• The ground will host qualifying matches for the Olympic Football competition. The exact schedule and detailed arrangements are still to be finalised.

• The exact schedule of matches to be held in Coventry is still to be finalised.
• The other football venues are Hampden Park in Glasgow, the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Old Trafford in Manchester, St James' Park in Newcastle and Wembley Stadium in London.

• The London 2012 Olympic Games take place from 27 July to 12 August 2012.
