City Ladies Draw Birmingham

Last updated : 28 September 2004 By Tim Kalns
Coventry City Ladies Reserves have good reason to feel pleased with themselves after Sunday's well deserved 2-0 win at Aston Villa, but face a daunting task if they are to progress through to the quarter finals. The Sky Blues have been drawn away to their illustrious neighbours and local rivals, Birmingham City.

And, in one of those peculiarly football twists of fate, the tie presents an opportunity for a number of girls, to renew acquaintances with a Miss Jenny Igoe. Jenny was an original member of Coventry City Girls, at the tender age of 8, and joined Blues this summer after 10 seasons with the club. She was deservedly rewarded with an England call up in 2002-03. Her father Martin is City Ladies vice-Chairman.
Blues currently top the Premier Reserves Div I with a 100% record. They enjoyed a crushing 10-1 win over 2nd placed Everton at the weekend to join City in the last 16.
