Coventry City Council has said they want a train station at the Ricoh Arena ready in time for the 2012 Olympics.

Coventry MP's Geoffrey Robinson and Jim Cunningham and City supporting Council Leader John Mutton will meet Transport Minister Theresa Villiers next month to demand that the NUCKLE project is not part of the cuts being introduced by the new government.

Currently the scheme is on hold but those attending this meeting believe that in order for the 2012 games to go smoothly in Coventry, it is vital to have a railway station at the Ricoh Arena in place.
