As revealed on this site on July 27th, Coventry City are to hold an open day on Thursday August 18th at the Arena. The club and Arena management need a minimum of 11,000 supporters there in order to test various aspects of the stadium and to train the stewards.

Should the tests not be able to be completed due to a low turn-out then there may be a reduced capacity for the opening game against Queens Park Rangers on August 20th.

To get in, you will need to produce your season ticket book or QPR home match ticket, turnstiles open at 6pm with the first team training on the pitch at 6.30pm.

The club have said: "Residents parking schemes will be enforced for the event on August 18 but all park and walk sites will be free. Parking immediately around the Ricoh Arena for more than 1,500 vehicles will also be available for free on a first-come-first-served basis.

There will be no hot food or alcohol available inside the Arena but cold food and soft drinks will be available.

The Marconi West Stand will be closed for the August 18 event so Premier Club members and all corporate guests and box holders wanting to attend should go to the Jewson South Stand - the away end - using their match tickets"
