Coventry City bounced back to beat Reading 2-1.
Brian Borrows made five changes to the side that had narrowly list at Manchester City with Jonny Tuffey taking over in goal.
City got off to the best start with a top quality finish from Vijay Sidhu after eleven minutes. The City striker 's first touch allowed him space to get the ball on his right foot and curl an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner from just inside the area.
Although they were giving Reading far too many free headers, the Sky Blues played some neat football with the best chance of the half being a 28th minute free kick curled just round the post by Craig Kelly.
With the second half underway,Reading keeper Ben Hamer got down to save from Sidhu.
The Royals had made a change at the break with Patrick Cox coming on. The centre half was on the pitch for less than four minutes when he received an accidental bang in the face and had to be replaced.
The Royals managed their first shot in the 52nd minute when Jem Karacan fired over from eighteen yards.
Aaron Stringfellow rifled a low effort for a corner before Ryan Crockford drilled inches wide in the 58th minute.
With twelve minutes to go, City doubled their tally when Paul McCrink turned inside the area and fired into the net.
In the last minute,Reading were given a fortuitous goal that even their supporters in the crowd could not believe was given. Jonny Tuffey had both hands on the ball, he was bundled off it by a Royals attacker and Nick Bignall was allowed to tap into the empty net. Tuffey and the City players protested but it was to no avail and their winning margin was reduced.
