Thirty Thousand pounds has been raised from Sunday's Celebrity Fun Day at the Ricoh Arena.

Around 1,500 people attended the event to meet stars from the country's major television soaps and raise funds for the diaster relief fund in Haiti.

One of the stars who attended is no stranger to the Ricoh Arena. He is CT Stand season ticket holder and Coronation Street star Graham Hawley, who told ricocharena.com:“This is great. I am a season ticket holder in the Telegraph Stand and come to most of the matches. The Ricoh is like a second home to me.

“I got my first season ticket when I was 13-years-old and get to most of the games. I have an eight-month-old daughter and she has a Sky Blue baby-grow – she will be a JSB!”

The Ricoh Arena's Marketing Director Liz Cooper said: “We were delighted that the Aid for Haiti day raised such an impressive tally to help people start to re-build their lives after such a devastating earthquake. .

“The event certainly caught the imagination of soaps fans who had the chance to meet their idols, obtain their autographs and have their photographs taken.

“We would like to thank everyone who came along to make it such a memorable day along with all the Ricoh staff who gave their time for free.”
