Coventry City have signed Zain Westbrooke.

The midfielder impressed whilst on trial with the Sky Blues, playing one excellent game for City U23's and then half a game at Burnley.

The club have had the former Chelsea youngster, who is out of contract with Brentford on June 30th traning with them and completed the deal to sign him on Monday.

Westbrooke has signed a two year deal with the option of another year if the club want it, which will start on July 1st.

City boss Mark Robins, who like a number of City supporters watched Westbrooke play for the U23's at the Ricoh Arena, told the club website: “Zain is central midfielder with a good range of passing, who will add to the quality we have in this area of the pitch.

“He impressed me and the coaching staff at the club with his performances and attitude while on trial, which earned him this contract.

“Zain will begin training with the squad immediately, and we look forward to him continuing his development with us.”
