Coventry City made it three away wins on the trot with a 1-0 win at Peterborough United.

On a windy day, the Sky Blue Army who were not baulking at the exorbitant £26 on the day admission price, set off for London Road, Peterborough.

It was a pretty easy down the A14 and A605 to the Abax Stadium where the City support in the crappy wmain stand which included supporters from such places as Southampton, Hampshire, Kent and Ipswich saw a Sky Blues which had Marcus Tudgay back in the starting line up.

After Micky Gynn had been introduced to the crowd, City in yellow shirts and sky blue shorts and socks took to the pitch.

There was plenty of noise from the City support which was one down in numbers when one was arrested before kick off outside of the ground after falling over whilst trying to pick up a cigarette and they watched on as Dominic Samuel, burst through in the fourth minute but fired wide.

Peterborough had taken Luke Williams on loan and when he warmed up in front of the City support, the forward was given a torrid time as the stewards, now in numbers in the front of the stand tried make City supporters sit down in seats with very limited leg room.

Back on the pitch and John Fleck sent a twenty yarder wide in the 13th minute.

Samuel launched another raid down the middle, finding Nouble who had his shot blocked on a pitch which was clearly showing the signs of a long season.

Bostwick fired well wide on the half hour mark as City moved Nouble to the right flank.

Peterborough won a corner five minutes later but a foul on Lee Burge gave City a free kick. Pennington cleared another attack away.

In the 39th minute, Marcus Tudgay suffered a recurrence of of his hamstring injury and Odelusi came on, going on the right with Nouble going back on the left.

Ward who worked hard in midfield, banged a ball across the box and Samuel swiped at a shot sending it over the bar and in to the terrace where some of the home fans were.

Peterborough sent on Luke Williams for the second half and had a free kick which was cleared away easily by the City defence,

Williams fired well wide to more abuse from the City support in the 50th minute and two minutes later, Fleck drove at Alnwick in the Posh goal.

James got on the end of a throw to give Burge an easy save before Tony Mowbray made his second change in the 57th minute replacing Frank Nouble with Blair Turgott on what was now a sunny afternoon.

Turgott fired over six minutes after coming on with a twenty yarder that flew into the new stand.

The game needed a goal and it came with a great move that saw the ball come over to the unmarked Blair Turgott on the right and he drove the ball low into the net, sparking some outrageous scenes in the away end.

Burge made two good saves before the referee failed to give a penalty when Odelusi was taken down in the area in the 76th minute.

O'Brien won a corner and Brisley incurred the wrath of the City support who were giving the team some excellent backing with plenty of Tony Mowbray Sky Blue Army chants and choruses of the Sky Blue Song.

Mowbray sent on Andy Webster for the closing seconds of normal time and stoppage.

City kept it tight and left London Road with the win that their performance deserved.
