Ten Man City Lose To Scunthorpe

Coventry City lost to Scunthorpe United for a second time this season, going down to a 2-1 defeat at the Ricoh Arena in front of a crowd of 11,138.

The Sky Blues fielded a changed side with Adam Armstrong back in the starting line up along with Jacob Murphy.

Scunthorpe took the lead in the eighth minute when Tom Hopper lashed home from a Ness corner which came after City were denied a penalty at the other end. 

In the 62nd minute, Scunthorpe won a corner and Murray Wallace was on hand to score from close range and see City go two goals down. 

Both sides made changes with former City player Gary McSheffrey getting an outing but with five minutes left, City had a penalty when Maddison was sent crashing. Up stepped Adam Armstrong to score and set up a grandstand finish.

With three minutes left, Vincelot was sent off for a second bookable.

Five minutes were added on it failed to produce a goal and it was another defeat for City.
