MILLWALL 0-0 COVENTRY CITY BY KEV MONKS

Seven bookings was the only talking point as City remained unbeaten with a 0-0 draw at Millwall

Boosted by the hard working draw at Norwich City on Saturday, the Sky Blues set off to South London to face Millwall.

Micky Adams had no fresh injury worries and named a side that was unchanged from the one that had drawn at Norwich, but included Neil Wood & Adie Williams on the bench at the expense of Richard Shaw and Claus Jorgensen.

Now,Millwall have had a turbulent few months and latest boss Colin Lee
kept faith with the team that had lost at Leeds on Sunday.

In bright sun light,City attacking the South Stand, had the first chance in the third minute when Stern John knocked a lovely ball for Gary McSheffrey to rifle just wide.

Millwall's reply was a long throw from Canadian Adrian Serioux to the far post for Marvin Elliott to blast into the side netting.

With ten minutes gone, Richard Duffy was cautioned after an awful ball from Marcus Hall left the Welshman no choice but to bring down the advancing Barry Hayles on the edge of the centre circle.

In what was a niggly opening period with free kicks aplenty, City tried to pass the ball around before failing with the final ball.

In the 26th minute,Adrian Serioux went into the book of referee Grant Hegley, for clattering Marcus Hall. Then Stern John clashed with Jamie Vincent and much to the annoyance of the home fans in a half full stadium received a yellow card.

It was two-two on bookings in the 35th minute, when Don Hutchison who joined the Lions on loan from West Ham was cautioned for what looked like dissent.

The niggliness continued with Jody Morris being cautioned for sandwich Gary McSheffrey, six minutes from half-time.

The silly bookings contined into the second half and less than ninety seconds in,Adrian Serioux was ordered off for a second bookable as he kicked the ball away after a free kick had been awarded.

In the 56th minute,City's best move of the game saw a Dele Adebola headed out for a corner. When the ball was swung in by Hughes,Adebola rose to nod over from six yards.

Caution number seven was for Dele Adebola who clattered into Matt Lawrence. That was the last of Adebola as he was replaced by Andy Morrell in the 65th minute.

Five minutes later, things got heated at a free kick with Lawrence and Page exchanging blows.

The save of the game came in the 73rd minute, when a pin point cross by Duffy was met at the far post by Stern John,At point blank range,Andy Marshall threw himself and somehow smothered the ball.

This was a game of two poor teams, but it was still a point.
