Coventry City's run of victories is over but they snatched a late draw against Accrington Stanley.
Five wins had put the Sky Blues on the edge of the play-offs, just behind Accrington Stanley on goal difference who were today"s visitors to the Ricoh Arena on thr first Saturday in November.
Mark Robins made two changes with no Dujon Sterling or Tom Bayliss, who were both injured, for a game which started with a well observed minute's silence to remember and honour those who served in wars, campaigns conflicts, the anniversary of the Coventry Blitz and those who lost their lives in the helicopter crash in Leicester a week ago.
With a smattering of away fans, it was the City support who were noisy as the game got underway with City attacking the South Stand for the first half.
The wind had got up but both sides look for an opening. Clark had the first chance and City had a corner inside a tight opening fifteen minutes.
City were nearly ahead in the 19th minute when Thompson won a corner and Hiwula headed over.
Barlaser drove wide on the half hour mark before Conor Ripley had to push over a Chaplin header for a corner which came to nothing.
City had defended well with both Jordan's in the back four doing well but five minutes later and Clark was allowed in after a mistake and struck the bar.
Chaplin headed over before the half ended.
The visitors were at City from the start of the second half, winning two corners as the cold set in amongst the City support.
Conor Chaplin, who was often fouled, ran well for a City side that had Burge save from Kee in the 55th minute.
Accrington were able to get in tackles to stop the City attacks and in the 57th minute, one led to to the ball going up to Offande Zanzala who thumped the ball past Lee Burge on his left.
The City support kept singing, trying to encourage the team which put together a quality move in the 63rd minute that Ripley somehow saved.
MIngoia fired wide in a game which saw Jodi Jones and Liam Kelly on for Conor Chaplin and Abu Ogogo for the last 22 minutes.
Hiwula had a shot which was deflected over for a corner and scrambled clear. City came back through Thomas and won another.
The pressure continued and with three minutes to go, Jones crossed and the ball fell to Michael Doyle who bundled the ball into the net, sparking plenty of celebrations.
Four minutes were added on. Burge saved and Clarke-Harris had a header blocked as the game finished in a draw.
