AS ROMA B 0-2 COVENTRY CITY

Coventry City got their Italian Tour off to a winning start with a 2-0 win against an AS Roma B team.

In Levico Terme, in front of a crowd of eighty including six City supporters, Steven Pressley's side took an early fifth minute lead through Shaun Miller who beat the offside trap to score against the youngsters from Roma and those who had not gone on Roma's tour to Florida.

For the second pre-season game running, there was a thunderstorm, which went on as Ryan Allsop in the City goal, dived to stop a free kick.

Allsop made another good save from a free kick just after the half hour mark whislt at the other end, Marus Tudgay linked up well.

Steven Pressley made wholesale changes at half-time and this allowed Roma to have the better of the chances.

City started to play the ball around and in the 65th minute, George Thomas was denied by the Roma keeper after he got to a Danny Pugh cross.

The conditions were awful but the match continued and City doubled their lead when Danny Pugh scored from a free kick in the 74th minute.

Another new signing - Danny Swanson had a great chance with ten minutes left as did George Thomas eight minutes later but it did not matter as City started their Italian Tour with a victory.
