Coventry City were beaten 2-1 at Bury in a League One fixture this afternoon.

At Gigg Lane on a cloudy afternoon, it was no surprise to the City support in the East Stand that it was former City striker Leon Clarke who gave the Shakers a 19th minute lead from a Chris Hussey free kick on the left.

Nathan Cameron headed a 39th minute Chris Hussey corner on to the woodwork before the half ended.

Five minutes into the second half and Referee Nigel Miller awarded Bury a penalty. Upstepped Leon Clarke and into the net it went just.

With Tudgay and Fortune on, City pulled a goal back in the 62nd minute when Reda Johnson headed home after a corner was played up in the air.

The goal lifted City and their support, Ricketts thumped the woodwork, Fleck had a shot saved, but they could not find a second goal in the five minutes of stoppage time and went down to defeat.
