Coventry City let down the travelling support with a 2- 1 defeat at relegation haunted Forest Green Rovers

As usual, another soggy Saturday and the Sky Blue Army were on the road to see Coventry City's first ever game at Forest Green Rovers.

Being a new ground, a chance to complete or recomplete in my case, the 92 grounds, the City support snapped up every available ticket, with some going in the home ends.

Getting into the open terrace down the side proved problematic at a gound supporting things as anti-whale hunting and it took a long time for the City support to get into the open terrace with many not making kick off and when they did get onto the terrace after getting in without even showing their ticket, seeing a City side with three changes playing in their Sky Blue kit, attacking the end to our right.

On a decent pitch, things were scrappy early on with Lee Burge making a howler in the 21st minute which was only stopped from being a goal by a brilliant block by Jack Grimmer.

McNulty had a shot saved by the legs of Collins before the home side won two corners.

Jack Grimmer who had looked good, limped off and was replaced by Rod McDonald in a City side which had Liam Kelly booked.

Then in the 38th minute, City went a goal down when Grubb who was struggling to take a corner properly, hit Burge's right hand post and Bray came in to score.

Into the second half with a City side looking disjointed in mdfield and the disgruntled City support stood getting very wet, watching Chris Stokes send a shot out of the ground following a 51st minute corner.

Liam Kelly drove wide from twenty five yards and in the 57th minute, was pulled down for a penalty. Up stepped Marc McNulty and he thumped it into the net to get City level.

However, with Jonson Clarke-Harris, wearing the number eighteen shirt, brought on for his second debut, Lee Collins hit a twenty yarder high into the net and with twenty five minutes left, City were losing again.

Tom Davies went off in a clash of heads, looking groggy and Ryan Haynes came on for the last twenty minutes.

Clarke-Harris looked reasonable and was unlucky with a 78th minute free kick.

With little to no threat on the goal to our left, City were not able to get back in the match and Forest Green Rovers did the double over the Sky Blues.
