Coventry City defender Stephen Wright is looking for a new contract with the Sky Blues.

Speaking to the CT, the 30 year said: "I am up in the summer.

"Nothing has been said yet but I am sure we will get January out of the way and then sit down and talk and hopefully get it sorted.

"I am settled here and I'd like to stay if the club want me, so I'd love to do it."

Being City's captain counts for nothing and Wright added: "That counts for nothing these days but I feel it is looking good overall at the club.

"You never know who the gaffer is going to bring in. "But I am optimistic for the rest of the season. You have to be.

"If we can keep everyone injury free and fighting for their places we should do OK.

"Things have improved in the squad and you only have to look at what our bench is now to the start of the season.

"We have got players who can come straight in and replace anyone and players are looking over their shoulders knowing that if they have a bad game there are lads there to fit right in there. "So it is good."
