Coventry City defender Richard Wood has said that he would love to beat Leeds United when the sides meet at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday.

Speaking to the CT, the Ossett born centre half said: "I have done the double over Yorkshire teams and now I hope to make it a treble when we play Leeds on Saturday when we will certainly need our supporters behind us because I know what Leeds fans are like.

"
I was one myself once and have been to loads of games at Elland Road and they are die-hard and they love it.

We have to keep doing what we have been doing and play to the tactics the gaffer wants, which are getting results.

I was a season ticket holder at Leeds for a few years before I signed for Wednesday and then I became an Owls' fan.

I was about seven, eight and nine when I was a regular until I joined Wednesday from the age of ten onwards.

The team I remember watching included the likes of David Wetherall at the back, Tony Yeboah - I'll always remember his fantastic volley against Liverpool - Lee Bowyer, Tony Dorigo, players like that. It was good.

I have got all my mates coming down and they will all be in the away end and they have already been giving me a load of stick, and I am sure they will do during the game.

Being from near Wakefield where there is no club, they are all Leeds fans because that's the nearest.

I have got family coming down as well but they will be supporting me so hopefully it will be a good day for me."
