Westwood Wants More International Experience

Coventry City keeper Kieran Westwood wants more international football.

Westwood, who joined City for £500k rising to £750k from Carlisle, featured in the Republic Of Ireland squad in May and enjoyed the experience.

With internationals coming up in August,September and October as World Cup qualfying gets underway, Westwood is determined to be a regular member of the Irish squad.

"It was an absolute honour when I got called up," said Westwood to the CT. "I was very shocked because at the time I was a League One player.

"I've just got to keep working hard and hopefully I will get into the squad. Being at Coventry will help as Coventry are a massive club with a fantastic manager, fantastic chairman and fantastic stadium.

"The club have a fantastic history. They were in the Prem and it would be nice if we could get back there."
