We're Expecting A Tough Game At Tranmere - Shaw

Coventry City caretaker manager Richard Shaw has said that his side are expecting a tough time at Tranmere Rovers tomorrow (3pm kick off)

The Sky Blues travel, having dropped into the relegation zone following last night's win for Leyton Orient over Brentford and travel to The Wirral to face Ronnie Moore's side who are second in the table.

Speaking to the CT's Andy Turner, Shaw said: “We’re expecting a tough game, as every one is at this level.

“I’ve been to Tranmere numerous times and it’s a difficult place to go and get a result, it really is.

“I remember playing there in the League Cup and losing 5-1 and David Burrows getting sent off, and that wasn’t a great game. I have been there more recently and it’s a tough place.

“But the one thing we have said is we are where we are but one win can change the whole mood of the place and confidence of the players.

“We look at Tranmere’s position and it gives us something to aspire to and if we go and get a result up there it will show the players what they can achieve.

“They need a win and hopefully we can get it in the next two games. We’re all looking forward to the challenge and we hope that our first win will give everyone a boost because they are a bit nervous and edgy at times.

“We have been in so many good positions this season to achieve that but it just hasn’t happened yet.”
