We'd Like Pennington Back - Mowbray

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that he would like Everton defender Matty Pennington back on loan.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Mowbray said: “With Everton you have to remember that Matty Pennington is injured and will be until August time, I think.

“I think he’ll miss the start of the pre-season and Dominic Samuel’s not guaranteed to start the pre-season either. Both of those lads, in my mind, wouldn’t even be in the equation until well into our pre-season.

“I think there’s potential Championship interest in Matty so it’s not a stick on that Matty Pennington will be coming back.

“We’d like him to come back but it’s about his progression and development as a football player and if Everton feel the next stage for him is to go in the league higher than us then so be it. All we can do is be in the equation.”
