We Need To Sort This Out Quickly - Murphy

Coventry City goalkeeper Joe Murphy has said that City need to quickly sort out giving soft goals away which is sending them to defeat.

Speaking to City's club journalist Keiran Crowley at a pre-game press conference, Murphy said: "The lads were talking this morning about how you can get used to losing. We played quite well on Saturday and we looked like the team who were going to win it. But it was like Lee Carsley said when one thing goes wrong, things just snowball.

"It has a chain reaction when we miss chances at one end as that can lead to us becoming anxious and sloppy at the back.

"The meetings are quite honest really as we want to sort out the problems. Even after the game, Richard Shaw told us to speak up about the game as we are all in it together.

"We need to sort this out very quickly and it isn't Richard Shaw's fault, it's ours really. The two goals we conceded were not good enough and we have to take our chances. It isn't up to a manager to defend and score goals for us.

"But I am sure we will do that as I was in a similar situation at Scunthorpe. After six games, we hadn't won a game but we sorted the problems out and went on to win the league."
