We Need Consistency - Thorn

Coventry City manager Andy Thorn feels that his players need to find some consistency.

City could have beaten both Reading and Blackpool but then were awful at Barnsley and were well beaten.

Speaking about the need for consistency, something which has eludeded City managers for the last forty years, Thorn told the CT's Andy Turner: "Did we deserve anything over the course of the game? "Probably not, because we just weren’t at it.

“After being unlucky in our last couple of games we were looking to kick on but just now it seems like it’s one step forward, two back.

“It wasn’t through lack of effort but we just never got going.

“It was probably our worst performance of the season – we lacked quality in all areas, we were poor individually and as a unit.

"We can do ten times better than that.

“We’re a young side but I can’t keep making that excuse; we need to learn and learn fast.

“And we’ve got some senior players in the dressing room as well so everybody needs to look at themselves because we need consistent performance – if we get that we’ll be all right.”
