Coventry City CEO Steve Waggott has said a change was needed to help the Sky Blues battle against relegation.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Mr Waggott said: The table does not lie, we are where are because of inconcistency and we are in a relegation dog-fight because we have drawn too many games, probably more than many.
"That has cost us and now we are in a dog-fight, a mini league which seems to be developing at the bottom of the table.
"We have fifteen games left and this is our season. Every game will be a challenge but it was felt that we needed to bring someone in just to change the dynamics of the group.
"I have met the players, met all the staff and we just need something extra at this stage."
