Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said been talking about his working relationship with his Technical Director Mark Venus.
Mowbray said about Venus to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “I have never been a manager who works with the powers that be on a day to day basis. I’m on the grass with my team trying to create a culture and an environment to come into work and that’s why Mark is such an important person because he knows how I work.
“He has a different skill set to me and I think we complement each other really well because he can talk finance extraordinarily well with people because he understands it, he understands percentages, interest rates, VAT and the business world people respect that.
"I’ve got a pair of boots on and I’m not really bothered about it; that’s how my career is but Mark loves interest rates and 20 per cent VATs and stuff.
"He’ll say to me that we can do this or this or that, which one do you like?
“I look at the menu and think, ‘he’ll fit perfect,’ but the job is to always to improve your team. If you can find someone better than what you have got even though someone is doing really well.
"Your job is to improve your team and keep getting better with incremental improvements every day, if you can.”
