Mark Venus told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire that Coventry City's 2-0 win over Port Vale showed that City players are right behind the fans.

City won with goals from Marvin Sordell and Chris McCann and speaking about the win, Venus, who had his fellow Otium Entertainment Group Board Member Tim Fisher abused by the 600 strong City support, said: "It's a win. "  It's built on a lot of effort, and the boys showed us they're right behind the fans.

"We can give the ball away a bit too easily, we can be more clever in how we pass it.

"We showed a lot of energy, and we gave them everything. Let's continue the momentum into the season."
