Unlucky Freddy

Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has said that Freddy Eastwood has been unlucky this season and was unlucky not to have played against Burnley on Saturday.

Speaking to the CT, Boothroyd said: "We've got Freddy Eastwood who is putting me under pressure to play him because of the way he works in training.

"He has been very unfortunate this season.

"I was ready to put him on against Burnley, but having not played so well I thought the best thing would be to go a bit more defensive and nail down the result which is why I sent on Jordan Clarke to stop Tyrone Mears playing.

"I picked the team I thought would win us the game but I can't say we played particularly well; our timing was off in the first half and the boys were a bit nervous throughout the game.

"But the important thing is that they gave me their all and we got the result - and if you can play badly and win, you're on course to have a half-decent season."
