While Portsmouth's off the field troubles may aid Coventry City's Championship survival, the Sky Blues manager Andy Thorn is more concerned that his side survives through their own efforts and not through the points reduction of another club.
Portsmouth are expected to go into administration later today, a move that will automatically attract a ten point deduction and leave them on the same point total as Coventry City.
Thorn said to the CT: “If they get deducted points then they will be level with us on 25, not that I’ve looked at it much, but we don’t want to do it that way.
“We have come this far on our own this season so we might as well carry on for the rest of it and get through by picking up our points, and stay up because we deserve to.
“I don’t have a target, I just want to get as many points as possible on the board.”
