Coventry City manager Andy Thorn was pleased for Clive Platt after he scored the winner for the Sky Blues to beat Barnsley 1-0 and condemn the Tykes to another defeat in Coventry.

Speaking to Sky Blue Player after City’s fifth win in six games, Thorn said: "Clive Platt was excellent for us today and always puts in an amazing shift for us pretty much every game he plays.

"I am really pleased for him because that was a difficult header he had because he had put a lot of power behind it and he did it really well.

"He had an injury and he worked hard to get back from that and for him to be sustaining his place in the side now, I am delighted for him.

"He is an important part of what we are doing and there is a long way to go yet with a lot of points still to play for.

"We will be looking upwards in the league and that's where we want to be. We have to do what we do and it is not about other results.

"If we can keep winning games at home and improve our away form then that's all I can ask for."
