The Players Need To Dig In - Mowbray

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that his players need to dig in and get some results.

City face Scunthorpe United on Saturday, only have won two matches out of the last ten and speaking to the Coventry Telegraph, the City boss said: “The group understand that they need to dig in and keep going and it was good to see just about everyone who was available out there training.

“It’s important rather than having players say they feel a bit delicate and need a day off because this or that is a bit sore. But the group know that we need to dig deep and get some positive results in the next few games.

“You have to find a way to win football matches and we didn’t find a way at the weekend. We had enough control of the game and enough of the ball to have asked more questions of Southend but we didn’t ask any of them really.

“We’re disappointed by the nature of the goals we conceded. I would have to say that was very unlike us and it hasn’t happened too often this season. But it’s part and parcel of football, it can happen, but you have to make sure that we get it right this week.”
