Sphinx Win At Alvechurch

Coventry Sphinx won 2-1 at Alvechurch this afternoon in a Midland Alliance fixture.

Sphinx have not had the best of times over the years at Alvechurch and today fell behind to a 17th minute goal from Nash.

They fought back winning corners, free kicks and shots from Muldoon, Stevenson and Edwards and in the 42nd minute, Sphinx were level when Luke Williams found the net.

In the 74th minute of what was a half where both sides got stuck in, a Stevenson corner was handled and a penalty awarded to Sphinx. Up-stepped Luke Williams who scored to give Sphinx who are at home to Gresley FC on Monday, a 2-1 win.
