Coventry City forward Robbie Simpson has been offered an extra year on his contract.

The striker signed by City from Cambridge United for £40,000 nearly two seasons ago, has the option of another season at the Ricoh Arena.

"The Chairman spoke to me in January sbout the one year option which they have for next season," said Simpson to the CT.

"It is a boost for me that the Chairman spoke to me himself and said he and the manager see me in their plans, so I have got to take confidence from that and try to prove I am not a squad player.

"But to do that, I feel I need a goal. I know if I get a good run in the side I can score some goals, I would love to get another four starts but I will have to wait and see.

"I have just got to keep playing like I did this week and perhaps that will stick in the manager's mind and he will have the belief to pick me."
