Coventry City's Sky Blues In The Community have been awarded a financial boost after being awarded Football League Trust Silver Status.

The SBITC will now get an extra £24,000 a year cash to add to the £24k they already get for having Bronze Status for passing the criteria of social inclusion and community cohesion, health, education and sports particpation.

Speaking to the CT's Andy Turner, former Sky Blue David Busst who is the manager of the Sky Blue In The Community Trust said: "For the last two years since the Football League criteria was put in place, we have worked very hard to ensure all the initiatives are in place to provide a better service for the community and improve community cohesion.

"We have a range of iniatives from encouraging fitness and targetting obesity in primary schools to coaching football to kids to keep them away from anti-social behaviour as well as continuing to provide football courses throughout Coventry & Warwickshire during the school holidays.

"We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the community scheme."
