It’s looking like all the bravado and bluster about the future of Coventry City not having a future might thankfuly be coming to an end.

If CCFC was going out of business, then we would be having a spate of players trying to get transferred out of the club asap and Mark Robins, who has already walked out of the club when the going got a bit tough, being heavily linked with every manager’s job going.

But no apart from a few out on loan that was expected, the playing squad remains intact.

Over the last week or so, there have been Coventry Telegraph articles, saying that Head Of Recruitment Chris Badlan won’t be going on holiday any time soon and that Robins has his targets of players he wants to bring into the club for next season.

Also, the two players that City have brought in on permanent deals so far during the January transfer window in Conor Chaplin and Declan Drysdale have both signed long term contracts – Chaplin (Three and a half years), Drysdale (Two and a half years).

Now, agents are many things but there is no way they would be letting one of their clients sign for a club that they knew would be out of existence come the end of the season and it would be fair to assume that they have had assurances this will not be the case when agreeing the transfers.
