Richard Shaw has said that he wants the managerial situation at Coventry City sorted as soon as possible.

Shaw, who is understood to be one of the nine candidates along with Steve Staunton who was at the Ricoh Arena today, after his appearance at the U21's on Monday, told the Press Association after City's 2-1 defeat to Stevenage: "Whatever has to be done (managerially) needs to be done sooner rather than later.

"Whoever is in charge of the club, they will have the same group of players and I have to say they have been great and not give us a minute's problem.

"They have worked very hard but when it comes to the pitch we need a few nasty characters and a few generals."
